Toneka M. Green, Ed.D.
Dr. Toneka M. Green is a dedicated and experienced educator. She is the owner and a consultant at 4Green Educational Consulting, LLC where she works with teacher preparation providers, schools and school districts, early childcare development centers, individual educators, and students and their families to meet specific educational goals. 4Green Educational Consulting has partnered with the Public Charter School Alliance of South Carolina, the North Carolina Association for Public Charter Schools, and traditional public schools and districts to help improve teaching, learning, and educational leadership in the Carolinas.
Green has filled the role of Chief Academic Officer of a national and state recognized, top ranking school network where she oversaw all curriculum, instruction, and accountability programs, budgets, and personnel. Prior to accepting the position as Chief Academic Officer, Green has been a Curriculum Coordinator, an Assistant Administrator, an Enterprise Learning Coach with a $24.9 million Race to the Top Grant, a Master Teacher with the National Institute for Excellence in Teaching (NIET), an instructional coach, an interventionist, and a classroom teacher at several grade levels. Green has a proven record of student achievement and educator development; and has also spent her career successfully leading the development and implementation of organizational strategic plans.
Green is an executive board member of the University of South Carolina Aiken Alumni Board. She also serves on the Richland County Business Center Board. She is an active member of the Independent Educational Consultant Association (IECA) and the Association of Supervision and Curriculum Development (ASCD). Green is a SC Education Policy Fellow, a SC Black Pages Top 20 Under 40 Recipient, and a SC Women in Business Award Winner.
Green is an alumna of the University of South Carolina, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education. She has also obtained a master’s and a doctorate degree, both in Curriculum and Instruction, and has completed an Educational Leadership program. Green is certified as a teacher, principal, and superintendent in multiple states. She is also certified as a Project-Based Learning (PBL) Coach through Buck Institute for Education (BIE) and a certified Content Specialist Trainer with SC Endeavors.
In her spare time, Green is an ambassador for a youth development program, Dreams, Imagination, and Gift (D.I.G.) and a Lesley University Alumni Ambassador. She also mentors graduate and undergraduate candidates and supports with thesis and dissertation writing and editing. Most importantly, she loves to spend time with her three children that are in the home, one who recently graduated from the University of South Carolina with a civil engineering degree. She also enjoys facetiming with her oldest son, which is in the military and stationed in Texas.
