Dr. Toneka M. Green
Dr. Toneka M. Green is an impactful educational leader and speaker that has worked with thousands of educators throughout the nation. She is the principal consultant and the owner of 4Green Educational Consulting, where she works with schools and districts, charter school networks, childcare educators, higher education institutes, and state agencies to achieve specific educational and leadership goals. The mission of 4Green Educational Consulting is to empower educators for success through the use of high-quality, customized consulting and support services.
Green has filled senior-level leadership positions, as well as consultancy roles for top ranking school systems. Her extensive career has also allowed her to fill positions of Chief Academic Officer, Curriculum Coordinator, School Administrator, Enterprise Learning Coach with a $24.9 million Race to the Top Grant, Master Teacher with the National Institute for Excellence in Teaching (NIET), Instructional Coach, Interventionist, and Classroom Teacher at several grade levels. Green has a proven record of leadership and educator development. She has also spent her career empowering other leaders and educators and successfully leading the development and implementation of organizational strategic plans.
Green is the Chairperson for Cogito Academies Board of Directors and a past executive board member of the University of South Carolina Aiken Alumni Board. She also serves on the Richland County Business Center Board. She is an active member of the Independent Educational Consultant Association (IECA) and the Association of Supervision and Curriculum Development (ASCD). Green is a 2019 SC Education Policy Fellow, a 2020 SC Black Pages Top 20 Under 40 Recipient, and a 2021 SC Women in Business Award Winner. In 2023, the University of South Carolina recognized Green during their Black Excellence campaign for making extraordinary contributions in the community and professionally throughout the nation.
Green is an alum of the University of South Carolina, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education. She has also obtained a master’s and a doctorate degree, both in Curriculum and Instruction, and has completed an Educational Leadership program. Green is certified as a teacher, principal, and superintendent in multiple states. She is also certified as a South Carolina Teaching Standards 4.0 Trainer and Evaluator and a South Carolina Principal Evaluator through the South Carolina Department of Education, a Project-Based Learning (PBL) Coach through Buck Institute for Education (BIE), and a certified Content Specialist Trainer with SC Endeavors.
In her spare time, Green mentors and supports graduate and undergraduate candidates. Most importantly, she loves to spend time with her three children that are in the home, one who recently graduated from the University of South Carolina with a master's degree in environmental management. She also enjoys facetiming with her oldest son, who is in the military.
